Holly Warfel, MS, RD, CDE, CDN, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator in New York City, is passionate about helping others discover a balance in life with respect to food, weight and body concerns. Her special focus areas include eating disorders, diabetes, body image and weight concerns, cardiovascular disease, and pre- and postnatal nutrition. Holly approaches all sessions with a warm, supportive, and positive attitude and enjoys showing others how to find healthy and happy relationships with food.
After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Connecticut and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from Boston University, Holly completed her dietetic internship at Boston Medical Center and a separate practicum at the Joslin Diabetes Center. Her past experiences include providing medical nutrition therapy for clients with diabetes at a diabetes center in White Plains, NY, and previously served as the senior dietitian at an eating disorder treatment center in Boston, MA for three years. Holly counseled clients struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, diabulimia, night-eating syndrome, and other nutrition-related conditions in all levels of care. She spearheaded many nutrition-oriented programs and groups to benefit those struggling with eating disorders, including Dining Out Meal Support, Grocery Store Tours, and nutrition groups on various topics.
In addition to seeing clients privately at Laura Cipullo Whole Nutrition Services, Holly leads Meal Support Therapy Groups on Monday nights. She also provides medical nutrition therapy to clients on an outpatient basis at the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. Holly skillfully counsels clients with weight management concerns, Type 1 and 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and eating concerns while helping them healthy relationships with food.
Holly is a professional member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). She takes pleasure in spending her spare time volunteering at these organizations’ fundraisers, along with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), where Holly has shared her time and resources for more than 10 years.
When she isn’t working, Holly enjoys relaxing at the beach, discovering new restaurants, dancing, and watching her favorite sports teams. She lives in Hoboken, NJ, with her fiancé.
